Language models can produce plausible short proofs, but may still be unreliable on long-horizon research problems, where progress depends on a sequence of uncertain and interdependent decisions. We introduce Stellar Colosseum, a model-agnostic harness for allocating inference across research in mathematics and theoretical computer science. Colosseum explores alternative strategies before proof construction, uses a readiness gate to decide when a route is mature enough to decompose, represents the proof plan as interdependent section-level subproblems, and routes verifier findings back to the affected part of the argument. Across these stages, it generates candidates in parallel, attacks them with targeted falsification, and combines candidates and their critiques into a single research artifact through overlapping random-sample tree aggregation. The Colosseum workflow has also been integrated into Google Antigravity's Teamwork framework as the Long Proof pattern. We demonstrate the capabilities of Colosseum through open-ended research and evaluations on theorem-proving and competitive programming benchmarks. Using Colosseum with Gemini 3.1 Pro, we obtain several new results that address open problems arising from papers published at top venues such as FOCS and JMLR. On TCS-Bench, a benchmark of research-level theorem-proving tasks drawn from papers published at FOCS, STOC, and SODA, Colosseum achieves 71.0% accuracy using Gemini 3.1 Pro and Gemini 3.7 Flash. In a separate Codeforces evaluation using Gemini 3.1 Pro, the proof-oriented pipeline with execution feedback solves 218 of 222 problems.
This paper investigates cross-agent specification portability using Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration as a controlled software transformation task. The study combines two experimental stages. First, a specification-first migration pipeline was evaluated on 1,006 PL/SQL files, of which 623 were successfully regenerated and 380 generated scripts executed successfully in PostgreSQL 16. Second, cross-agent experiments were conducted on a dataset of 1,802 Oracle scripts with corresponding PostgreSQL implementations using Amazon Kiro, Google Gemini, and GitHub Copilot, with Claude Code and Cursor included in the initial single-agent evaluation. Native and foreign specifications were assessed using Token F1, exact match, SQL syntax validity, AST exact match, AST mean similarity, and immediate runnability. The results show that specification size alone does not predict implementation quality and that cross-agent transfer can produce substantial agent-dependent degradation. The strongest replicated case occurred when Gemini directly consumed a Kiro-origin specification, producing a Token F1 of 0.035, SQL syntax validity of 2.33%, and AST mean similarity of 0.015. Rewriting substantially improved Gemini in the tested configuration, compression did not provide a universal benefit, and retrieval-augmented ingestion was the only common strategy represented on the per-agent Pareto frontiers of both Gemini and Copilot. The findings suggest that specifications in heterogeneous SDD workflows should not automatically be treated as agent-neutral artifacts and motivate explicit consideration of specification portability, agent-specific interpretation, and retrieval-based access in multi-agent software engineering.

When the sources retrieved for a query disagree, the right response depends on why they disagree: a question with several valid answers, a contested topic, stale information and a false source each call for different behaviour. Cattan et al. (2025) showed that telling a generator the conflict type improves its responses by about 24 points, but that predicting the type is hard even for frontier LLMs. We study whether typed decision models, which return probabilities over fixed options in a single forward pass instead of generating text, can do this classification fast and cheaply. Using the CONFLICTS benchmark and the original paper's prompt verbatim, we evaluate all 11 decision models served by one commercial inference gateway, from 7 providers, against Gemini models on identical inputs. Asked directly, the decision models reach 50.0--67.0% accuracy; 10 of the 11 match or exceed Gemini 2.5 Flash, the paper's model (61.3%), at 4--39x lower billed cost (2 were free) and 2.6--6.0x lower latency. The current Gemini 3.8 Flash (70.0%) is significantly more accurate than 8 of them, but sending each decision model's least confident quarter of queries to it gives a cascade statistically tied with it for 8 of the 11, at 25--37% of its cost. End to end, answers generated with the types of 10 of the 11 follow the expected behaviour as often as with the LLM's types. Decomposing the taxonomy into yes/no questions lowers accuracy for every model, and a repair fitted on one model does not transfer. Pre-specified diagnostics show that dates play no measurable role and that sensitivity to source order varies widely between models. Decision models detect a planted false source less reliably than the LLM as hard labels, but their probabilities still separate planted from clean sources. We release code, prompts and all model outputs at https://github.com/Parv17k/decision-models-conflict-typing.

Evaluating live streaming speech synthesis (TTS) requires assessing fine-grained, highly expressive prosody such as emotion, intonation, and energy which traditional MOS predictors fail to capture. While proprietary Large Language Models (LLMs) like Gemini can evaluate these aspects, they are too costly for massive inference and reinforcement learning feedback. To address this, we first introduce Live-ProsodyJudge (LPJ), a cost-effective pairwise evaluator distilled from Gemini into Qwen3-Omni. However, we identify a critical flaw in standard multi-dimensional evaluation: verdict coupling. The judge tends to lazily align all individual dimension scores with its overall preference, collapsing a rich multi-dimensional rubric into a single preference bit. To resolve this, we further propose Decoupled-Live-ProsodyJudge (D-LPJ). D-LPJ eliminates the overall verdict target to prevent blind following, masks uncertain pair-dimensions during Supervised Fine-Tuning(SFT), and introduces a novel span-local GRPO strategy that applies normalized advantages strictly to their corresponding rationale spans. Evaluated on highly curated human-annotated test sets, 10 sample balanced-order LPJ achieves higher point accuracy than a single Gemini call, while D-LPJ successfully produces independent, decoupled dimension judgments. Furthermore, in a Best-of-8 TTS candidate selection tournament, the LPJ-selected utterance falls within the human top-3 in 85.29% of high-confidence cases, demonstrating its efficacy for fine-grained TTS preference optimization.
